The Council received a complaint regarding a judge’s improper dismissal of a complaint for judicial misconduct. The allegations of misconduct appeared to relate to the defendant’s behaviour during the complainant’s small claims matter and the disagreement with the decisions taken by the judge. Additionally, the complainant requested that the actions of a divisional court judge be reviewed; however, the Council was unable to identify a judge by the name provided.

The complainant was advised to review the information within their complaint, and to recognize that the Council does not have jurisdiction to review complaints related to provincial court judges or deputy judges. As the complaint did not pertain to the mandate of the Council, the matter was closed.
