JURY INSTRUCTIONS

The Council’s National Committee on Jury Instructions created model jury instructions for criminal cases. These jury instructions provide a “script” for judges to read when informing juries about the nature of the criminal charge and the issues that are specific to the case.

The purpose of the jury instructions is to reduce case dismissals resulting from errors in instructing the jury, making the court system more efficient.
