The complaint received by Council included two grievances. The first issue was that a judge allegedly prevented the complainant’s lawyer from presenting their case fully during a trial in 2007, and as a result, should disqualify themselves. The Council determined that this complaint was made without evidence and that there was no misconduct on the judge’s behalf.

The second issue was against a retired judge who responded to the complainant’s initial letter from 2007. The complainant stated that the letter included two errors of fact which should warrant reopening the complaint. The Council responded that the judge wrote the letter with all of the information provided at that time, and that the errors are not substantial enough to reopen the complaint. The matter was closed.
