The complainant expressed that a judge was unable to manage her case and that the courts had made a mess of her estate matter. She also claimed that the judge was unfair in determining the outcome of the proceedings and took too long to render a decision. She also made complaints against other professionals involved in the case, such as lawyers.

The judge commented on the matter and explained that there were several complicated factual circumstances which had to be carefully considered. He recognised that, due to those reasons, he took too long to complete and offered his regrets for the delay.

As the Council determined that the complaint regarded the judge’s decisions in the case, and the complainant’s allegations held no factual evidence, the Council would not intervene. The complainant was advised that she would need to visit the appropriate Law Society website for information on the complaint process regarding legal counsel. The matter was closed.
